RIP: RADIO STATION HOT 102.7 FM PAYS TRIBUTE TO MARK PILGRIM

Mark Pilgrim’s death shocked fans nationwide last year. EWN also reported that he was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in February 2022. It’s said that he later shared that the cancer had spread to his spine and lymph nodes.

Hot 102.7 FM took to their Instagram feed with a video of the radio personality as they remembered him a year after he died.

“Today marks exactly one year since we lost Mark Pilgrim. The devoted father of two lost his battle with cancer on this day last year at the age of 53. We take a look back at the life and legacy of our friend and colleague, who is sorely missed every day here at Hot House,” the radio station wrote.

Adrienne Watkins, who was engaged to Pilgrim when he died has also marked the first anniversary of the radio presenter’s death, TshisaLIVE reported.

“All I can think about is that a year ago today would have been our last night together… I can’t believe it’s been a year without you my love bug. My heart hurts so much. It feels like yesterday and at the same time an eternity. I wish more than anything we had more time,” Watkins was quoted as saying.

“Mark you were a legend, every time your song plays “Don’t stop believing” on Hot FM I get tears in my eyes thinking how bravely you fought! You will never be forgotten 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻,” @mrsmarks wrote.

“How we miss Mark’s beautiful, velvet voice over the radio, with his calm energy and often naughty and wicked sense of humour. He had a way of just making you feel like he was talking to you rather than at you, which makes a huge impact of us listeners. ❤️Just such a huge loss of an incredible human,” @pamelabhungwandeen said.

“Gone but not forgotten, what a gentleman and pillar for so many. Big Love Mark,” @rosslearmonth replied.
