A BATTLE LOST TO BRAIN CANCER

According to Page Six, after Zen’s birth in July 2021, Nick shared that he noticed that Zen had a “nice-sized” head. It has also been reported that Zen had developed a cough, which forced Nick and Alyssa to take their newborn son to the doctor.

Shortly after this it was discovered that Zen had built up fluid built up in his brain, which turned out to be a malignant tumour.

The five-month-old then underwent emergency surgery to drain the fluid, but unfortunately his health took a turn for the worse after Thanksgiving that year.

In December 2021 Nick announced the death of his son. He added, “this weekend I made a valid effort to spend the most quality time I could spend with Zen. We woke up on Sunday … and [went] to the ocean … and then I had to fly back to New York for the show. By the time I got in the car and was headed to the airport, I had to turn around”, he tearfully noted.
