Princess Kate has been hospitalised – here’s what we know

Princess Kate has been hospitalised following a planned abdominal surgery and will only continue public duties after Easter.

Princess Kate has been hospitalised after undergoing abdominal surgery.

PRINCESS KATE HAS BEEN HOSPITALISED

Kensington Palace announced that Kate Middleton is recovering from abdominal surgery via a statement on Wednesday 17 January. The Princess of Wales underwent a “planned abdominal surgery” at The London Clinic on Tuesday 16 January, according to People.

Princess Kate has been hospitalised and will remain in hospital for the next 10 to 14 days before she returns home.

“The surgery was successful, and it is expected that she will remain in hospital for 10 to 14 days, before returning home to continue her recovery. Based on the current medical advice, she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter,” read the statement.

“The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate. She hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible; and her wish that her personal medical information remains private,” the statement continued.

“Kensington Palace will, therefore, only provide updates on Her Royal Highness’ progress when there is significant new information to share,” the statement added.

PRINCE WILLIAM TO POSTPONE PUBLIC DUTIES

The Prince of Wales, William is believed to be postponing his public duties to support his wife while she recovers and help take care of their three kids – Prince George (10), Princess Charlotte (8) and Prince Louis (5).

Princess Kate will return to her home in Windsor once she has been discharged. William and Kate relocated to Windsor in 2022 from their previous home in Nottingham Cottage in London.
