South African musician Jabulani Hadebe, popularly known as Sjava had his social media followers going down memory lane when he dedicated a sweet birthday post to the late ‘Emzini Wezinsizwa’ actor Roland Mqwebu as seen on his Instagram feed on Tuesday, 16 January.

SJAVA DEDICATES B-DAY POST TO LATE ‘EMZINI WEZINSIZWA’ ACTOR ROLAND MQWEBU

Roland Mqwebu solidified his mark in the actor’s space in South Africa after starring as Bab’ Mkhize on SABC 1’s legendary 90s sitcom Emzini Wezinsizwa. In the show, he was known as the strict roommate and barber who lived in room eight. He also starred in the popular 1996 show, Shaka Zulu.

According to the SA gov website, Mqwebu was also a musician, having teamed up with Maskandi artist Phuzekhemisi on the song Ekhaya Ngonyawo. Not only that, he was also a brand manager for a rice brand for many years, a job he executed with diligence before retirement, IOL reported.

According to the publication, the late icon died at the age of 74 on 28 August 2015 following a long illness. Several publications reported that his death was allegedly linked to kidney problems. Sjava penned Mqwebu a lovely birthday message via Instagram recently and had his comment section buzzing.

“Happy birthday and thank you for the smiles you put on our faces love you always ❤️,” Sjava wrote.
