Mbele revealed that she was diagnosed with the disease a few months ago, a few days before launching season 3 of Real Housewives of Johannesburg (RHOJ).

“At the time I thought I was just fatigued until my doctors performed additional tests which confirmed that I have anemia that has gone chronic,” she said.

Anemia occurs when there aren’t enough healthy red blood cells to carry oxygen to your body’s organs. This results in symptoms of tiredness or weakness.

The actress also shared that she is currently taking treatment for iron deficiency and has adjusted her diet.

“I had to change my diet and eating habits, quit alcohol and I now have to go for drips to make sure I have enough iron,” she added.

During the first few weeks, the mother-of-three has made headlines for dodging the taxman.

Last week, after missing court twice due to illness, she finally made an appearance.
