Showmax confirms ‘Adulting’ season two

Showmax has confirmed that production has started on the second season of their hit drama series ‘Adulting’.

Tshedza Pictures’ hit drama series Adulting which premiered on Showmax in March has been commissioned for a second season.

‘ADULTING’ RETURNS

The streaming platform Showmax reveals that the first season of Adulting set a new record for the most first-day views of any drama series, well ahead of Succession S4The Last of Us S1 and The White Lotus S2.

Adulting follows four friends, Mpho, Vuyani, Bonga and Eric in Johannesburg whose strong bond has held them together even after varsity.

The pair grow as men, find love, succes, have the best nightlife spots in Jozi and turn to each other for laughs and support. 

The hit series is created by Tshedza Pictures’ Phatu Makwarela and Gwydion Beynon, who’ve won five Best Scriptwriting SAFTAs in the past four years for smash-hit shows like The Republic and The River.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN SEASON TWO

The production company Tshedza Pictures has confirmed that all four leading actors Thembinkosi Mthembu who potrays Bonga, Nhlanhla Kunene who potrays fan-favourite Eric, Thabo Rammusi who plays Mpho, and Luthando BU Mthembu who portrays the role of Vuyani will return.

Rising star Londeka Shishi, who played Mthembu’s love interest in the first season is also returning as Nkanyezi in season two. 

Co-creator Makwarela says the Showmax Original will remain “a fun show about good times and brotherhood, with lots of heart.”

Grounded in the migrant experience in Jozi, where, “You leave your town of origin and come to Joburg as an adult and the friends you make in that time become your family.”
