ANITA LLOYD BACKTRACKS ON MAMMON COMMENTS

The first season of the Real Housewives van die Wynlande (RHOWL) has officially drawn to a close and Anita Lloyd was one of the most talked about housewives. She is married to Boyce Lloyd — former CEO of KWV.

Anita previously made a comment on mammon — wealth regarded as an evil influence or false object of worship and devotion according to the Oxford Dictionary. This upset many. On the first episode of the RHOWL reunion, host actor and media personality Armand Aucamp addressed these comments.

“You said you would throw yourself off a building if you didn’t have money,” he said.

In her response, Anita sincerely apologised for her comments and admitted that it was “completely wrong” and “inappropriate”.

“Definitely not. Seriously. It’s a serious issue. I really shouldn’t…one shouldn’t smile about it, but it was said in the moment and it was also a completely wrong thing to say but I’m not going to jump off a building if I don’t have money,” she said.

“Look, money can calm anyone. We don’t like it, but it calms us down. It’s all done in this exaggerate context. I sincerely want to apologize for saying we serve mammon. It was totally wrong and I feel terrible that I said that,” she continued.

“Boyce and I live comfortably, but we worked very hard for our money. It does not just fall. From the trees. So, please accept my apology for the mammon remark. It was truly inappropriate,” she added.

WHAT DID SHE SAY?

Anita set tongues wagging when she she said that she serves mammon – after saying that she would jump off a building if she didn’t have money.

“We all serve Mammon. We are crazy about him, the money god. If I didn’t have money… I will jump off a building. It’s actually unimaginable,” she said.
