Chiefs’ woes in front of goal last season had been well documented, therefore it is no surprise that they were linked to Etios Ighodaro ahead of the new season.

Ighodaro had quietly been going on about his business from Chippa and and it now looks as if he might never go back to Sundowns at all. That is because, the latest reports suggest that the player has attracted the interest of some top clubs from Serbia, North Africa as well as in France. This comes after the Nigerian has managed to score 10 goals in all competitions for a struggling Chippa side. Nine of goals have come in the league, with one coming in the Nedbank Cup quarterfinal 2-1 loss to Sekhukhune United earlier this year.

with Ighadoro still waiting on Sundowns before making a decision on his future. Now, having seen the likes of Caleb Bimenyimana and Christian Saile firing blanks, it is believed that Chiefs had also decided to take a look at the 21-year-old. But since their own reported signing of Ranga Chivaviro, Amakhosi was not linked to the Downs star. In recent weeks it was both Chippa and SuperSport United who showed interest in him, but now according to the latest reports, he has received an offer from Serbia.

PARTIZAN MAKE BID FOR IGHODARO, WILL SUNDOWNS ACCEPT?

“While The Brazilians resisted the temptation to let go of Ighodaro last year after returning from another loan at University of Pretoria, their resolve has been tested again. Partizan have now put in another offer, having had R8,5 million turned down last year. It has not been three working days since the offer landed at Chloorkop and it is now up to the decision-makers at Chloorkop to make the call on Ighodaro.” Wrote kickoff.com.
