Reeva Steenkamp’s mother, June, has claimed that Oscar Pistorius “refused” to see her when she attempted to confront him over what transpired a decade ago.

Speaking Australia’s Insights actuality series titled “Seeking Justice,” the mother of the murdered model revealed details never shared before.

In it, June claimed that Pistorius was still harbouring a “bad temper” and feared he might “hurt someone else.”

In March, Pistorius was denied parole after officials claimed he had not served his mandatory sentence.  Pistorius – who was sentenced to 13 years and five months for the 2013 murder of Reeva –  will face a new parole hearing in August 2024.

REEVA’S MOM CLAIMS OSCAR PISTORIUS IS A ‘THREAT’ TO SOCIETY

According to South Africa’s Department of Correctional Services Oscar Pistorius was not, in fact, eligible for parole, as he did not serve his minimum sentence.

Under SA law, offenders must spend at least half their sentence in prison before becoming eligible for parole.

Pistorius shot and killed Reeva on Valentine’s Day in 2013. According to the former athlete, he mistook her for an “intruder.” However, trial testimonies painted him as a “jealous boyfriend” who was “trigger-happy.”

Speaking recently to Insights, June claims Oscar is not deserving of an early release.

She said: “I feel that he is not rehabilitated. His problem is his temper. He might hurt someone else if he comes out”.

June added that Oscar had shown her no remorse either. On the day of Oscar’s parole hearing, Reeva’s mom claims he “refused” to see her.”

She continued: “He would not come out of his cell. He was supposed to come to talk to me, but he refused”.

She said: “It would help us. That would be justice. It would be for Barry and I, the best thing that could happen”.
