Nesquik joins a growing list of products discontinued from South African shelves in recent years, including Hellmann’s mayonnaise, Chocolate Log, Tempo, Simba tomato chips and Peck’s and Redro fish paste.

Nesquik chocolate and strawberry milk drink (250g and 500g) have been discontinued from 21 August 2023, according to Nestlé South Africa.

The company cited low demand and lack of sufficient sales as a reason for culling the product.

In a similar fasion, due to low consumer demand and high inflationary importing costs, Unilever confirmed in January that Hellmann’s will be discontinued in South Africa until further notice.

At the time the American brand announced that it would be discontinued in South Africa due to low demand, high raw material costs and high costs associated with bringing the product from the United States to South African shores.
