American rapper Jay-Z-real name Shawn Corey Carter’s mother Gloria tied the knot with her long-term girlfriend Roxanne Wilshire in front of their several wedding guests and family members who attended the star-studded wedding ceremony on Sunday, 2 July, several publications reported.

Gloria Carter and Roxanne Wilshire said their ‘I dos’ in New York, TMZ reported. Her famous son Jay-Z and his wife Beyoncé and with their kids attended the event. Other guests that were spotted at the wedding include Kelly Rowland, Tyler Perry, Kris Jenner’s boyfriend Corey Gamble, and Tina Knowles.

Gloria came out as a lesbian in 2017. In the same year, Jay-Z honoured his mother and dropped a song titled Smile and featured her on the track. The song was the third and longest track in the rapper’s album, Genius reported.

Jay-Z’s mother was interviewed by Angie Martinez at The Library in Brooklyn, NYC, Hello reported. She is said to have shared just how she felt about her 11-year-old granddaughter, Blue Ivy’s performance during Beyoncé’s latest tour and was quoted as saying,

“I told my son and daughter-in-law, ‘You know you guys have opened up a door because now everybody is going to be expecting to see Blue Ivy dancing with her mom.”
