South Africans respond to R10 SASSA increases in October

‘It’s a joke,’ said one South Africans on social media this week when SASSA announced that the October grants will be increased by R10.

The SASSA grants for old-age pensioners, child support grant, disability grants, military veterans will increase with R10 from October.

SASSA INCREASES GRANTS BY R10 IN OCTOBER

South Africans who rely on SASSA to survive will see an increase in their grants from next month. According to the SASSA grants website, the R10 increases will come into effect on Sunday, 1 October 2023.

Here’s how much beneficiaries will get in October:

  • The Older Persons Grant will increase with R10 from R2080 to R2090 on 1 October 2023, for recipients between 60 and 74 years old.
  • The Older Persons over 75 years old will also get an increase with R10 from R2100 to R2110 on 1 October 2023.
  • The Disability Grant will increase from R2080 to R2090 on 1 October 2023.
  • The Child Support Grant will increase from R500 to R510 on 1 October 2023.
  • The Child Support Grant Top-Up will remain at R250 on 1 October 2023.
  • The Foster Child Grant will increase from R1120 to R1130 on 1 October 2023,
  • The Care Dependency Grant will increase from 2080 to R2090 on 1 October 2023.
  • The War Veterans Grant will increase from R2100 to R2110 on 1 October 2023.
  • The Grant-In-Aid will increase from R500 to R510 on 1 October 2023.
