President Donald Trump’s administration will cover the start-up costs for Afrikaner ‘refugees’ arriving in the US, possibly as early as this week.

The support includes essentials such as groceries, toiletries, and diapers.

Reports indicate that the first group from this minority community is expected to land in the US next week.

AFRIKANER REFUGEES TO RECEIVE HELPING HAND FROM TRUMP ADMINISTRATION

According to the New York Times, the Trump administration is preparing to receive nearly 50 Afrikaner “refugees”, who have been approved under the resettlement programme.

This means finding “temporary or longer-term housing” and “basic home furnishings, essential household items, and cleaning supplies.”

The “refugees” will also receive “groceries, weather-appropriate clothing, diapers, formula, hygiene products, and prepaid phones that support the day-to-day well-being of the households.”

APPLICATION PROCESS: WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?

According to Versfeld Immigration Attorneys, Afrikaners interested in applying for Donald Trump’s refugee status offer must adhere to the following protocol.

  • Applicants will be required to complete official documents. They will also be required to undergo an interview with an US official who will determine eligibility.
  • Family members of refugees – like spouses and children under 21 – may be included in the application.
  • Approved applicants will receive a medical exam, cultural orientation, and assistance with travel. They will also receive a travel loan to relocate to the US.
  • Refugees may legally work in the US immediately upon arrival.
  • Refugees can apply for a Green Card one year after entering the US.
