A behavioral analyst has deciphered the statements of Joslin Smith’s mother, Kelly, and her boyfriend, Jacquin Appollis, also known as Boeta.

The couple, along with one other, are being charged with kidnapping and human trafficking over the Saldanha Bay girl’s disappearance.

According to the analyst, there were “multiple red flags” in the couple’s statement.

Joslin disappeared from her home in Diazville, Saldanha Bay on 19 February. At the time, she was under the care of Boeta, who along with Kelly, have admitted to abusing drugs.

The court case has been postponed to 13 May for investigation.

JOSLIN SMITH AND BOETA: PROFESSIONAL WEIGHS IN

In a YouTube video on their channel ‘Never A Truer Word’, a behavioral analyst from Manchester deciphered the “hidden meaning” behind Joslin Smith’s mother, Kelly, and her partner Boeta’s public statements.

Both Kelly and Boeta spoke to SABC News about Joslin’s disappearance on Monday, 19 February.

They also denied any involvement in it.

Here’s what the behavioral analyst had to say about Kelly’s words…

Talking about herself

“She puts herself first. She is the first priority…is she setting up an alibi that she was at work?

“No concern for the missing daughter. Her concern is only for herself. She is making herself out to make to be the victim”.

Use of present tense, alluding that she is close to her

“She knows exactly when she went missing.”

Potential deceptive language by claiming what “people” have told her.

“She is trying to throw the scent somewhere else.”

Of Boeta, here is what the analyst had to say…

Mixes present and past times

“Filled with red flags…we are being lied to.”

‘I am really, really honest.’

“Truthful people do not feel the need to tell us they are being honest. When people tell lies, they are worried they won’t be believed.”

‘Story-telling’

“He is telling a story he prepared. He shows no concern for Joslin, just deceptive stories”

No clarity

“It’s not very clear story-telling”

ABANDONING BAIL

Meanwhile, Joslin Smith’s mother Kelly, Boeta, and a third accused, Steveno van Rhyn, have all abandoned their bail applications.

The National Prosecuting Authority have also claimed that there is “information on the whereabouts” of the missing child that they are looking into.

The trio will appear in the Vredenburg Magistrates Court again on 13 May.
