Bokomo has been a beloved name in South African households for generations, bringing the comforting taste of home to both locals and Saffas (South Africans) living abroad. Bokomo has family all around the world, so “Good for Every Kind of Different” includes every South African, even those who don’t live here.

The United Kingdom (UK) has been a top destination for many South Africans. Today, more than 300,000 Saffas have made their residing destination 13316,6 kilometres away from their homeland. However, no matter how far away they travel from South Africa, it forever resides in their hearts.

THE “BOKOMO HOME DELIVERY” CAMPAIGN TO SAFFAS

It is no secret that leaving one’s homeland means farewell not only to a physical place but also to cherished memories and familiar things that often create nostalgia within individuals. Saffas, anywhere in the world, long to relive South African moments like sunsets, braais, barefoot play in the garden, and their favourite cereal around the breakfast table. That is why Bokomo’s mission on Heritage Day was to make the day extra lekker for Bokomo families in the UK. The “Bokomo Home Delivery” campaign was a remarkable initiative designed to celebrate South Africanness across borders.

On the 24th of September, friendly faces on Bokomo bicycles roamed the streets of London to deliver SA’s beloved Bokomo products to Saffas living abroad, ensuring they start their day in a truly South African way. These individuals each received a taste of home right to their doorstep, for mahala. All they had to do was send a WhatsApp message to Bokomo for a chance to win. The lucky Saffas welcomed us with open arms and grateful hearts, thanking us for providing them with a piece of home and an opportunity to share the Bokomo taste with their friends and fam.

The entire day’s events were captured on video, so you can visit the website or check out social media for updates and the various heartwarming reactions received.

Bokomo is grateful for the opportunity to have made a difference in their lives and deliver a sprinkle of home to their breakfast tables, because it is good for every kind of South African, even those who don’t live here.
