KAIZER CHIEFS DEFENDER SIYABONGA NGEZANA MOVES TO ROMANIA

The 25-year-old defender’s transfer was announced by Chiefs via social media on Thursday morning, just six months after the club announced Njabulo Blom’s departure to St Louis in the USA’s Major Soccer League.

“Kaizer Chiefs bid farewell to defender, Siyabonga Ngezana, who has signed for Romanian Lige 1 powerhouse, Fotbal Club FCSB, formerly known as Steaua Bucharesti,” the Soweto giants reported.

“The 25-year-old Youth Development Academy graduate joins the 26-time Romanian champions for an undisclosed fee after spending seven seasons as a first-team player at Naturena, having made a goal-scoring debut against Mamelodi Sundowns in 2017,” the report added.

“There is always a tinge of sadness when a player who has risen through the ranks here leaves the Club,” Chiefs’ Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr, said.

“However, Siya has had a good and substantial career at Kaizer Chiefs and feels the time is right to take up a new challenge. We appreciate his wholehearted commitment to Amakhosi and wish him well on his exciting adventure to Europe,” Kaizer Jnr concluded.

MANDLA MASANGO REJECTS SMALL OFFERS

Having last played from Renders in Denmark in 2018, the 33-year-old winger from Mpumalanga’s Kwaggafontein is yet to find a new football club, and the reason is financial.

“It’s not a matter of being who and who, it’s a matter of principles,” Masango said via Sowetan LIVE.

“When you are a person you must have your own principles, so I have my own. If my principles and expectations are not met, I’d rather stay at home.

“Last time I had an offer, but I won’t mention the team, was a Premiership team. That person offered me an amount that I can make even when I am at home without waking up. When you speak to people, you must respect their craft… – READ THE FULL STORY HERE.
