Cyril Ramaphosa confident IEC will hold fair elections

President cyril Ramaphosa reiterated his confidence in the capabilities ofthe IEC and said he trusted they would hold a fair election.

President Cyril Ramaphosa he is confident that the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) will hold free and fair elections.

Ramaphosa said this as proclaimed Election Day, 29 May.

Speaking to the media on Friday, 23 February ahead of the ANC manifesto launch. Ramaphosa said it is all systems go for the upcoming elections.

The President said the IEC is also ready. He added that the highly professional organisation that has been able to run national and provincial elections as well as local government elections successfully.

“I do believe that they will be able to run a free, fair and credible election,” he said.

2024 ELECTIONS ARE HISTORIC

Electoral Commission Chief Electoral Officer Sy Mamabolo, said the 2024 general elections are historic because they mark the 30th year of electoral democracy.

“We do not wish for any eligible citizen to miss out on this historic democratic process,” he said before the voter’s role closed.
