EThekwini Municipality announces 10-hour water shutdown

Glenwood, Essenwood, Mobeni Heights are some of the areas under the eThekwini Municipality that will not have water from Tuesday.

Parts of the eThekwini Municipality supplied by the Wiggins Pumping System will not have water from Tuesday, 14 November due to planned maintenance. 

The shutdown will start at 19:00 on Tuesday, 14 November until 05:00 on Wednesday, 15 November. 

WATER SHUTDOWN IN ETHEKWINI MUNICIPALITY 

In a statement, the municipality said repair work needs to be undertaken on the inlet control valve that operates the St Thomas Reservoir. 

The repair work includes the replacement of the 600mm gate and butterfly valves.

This work will require reservoirs from the Wiggins Pumping System to be isolated.

“The system recovery will vary according to the demand patterns,” municipality said.
