After seeing his club, Marumo Gallants getting relegated to the lower division, ex-Orlando Pirates winger Mahlatse Makudubela joins the Tanzanian side, Young Africans.

Makudubela was rumoured to be on his way to Soweto giants, Moroka Swallows as he looked to remain in the DStv Premiership but the interest didn’t go further.

The latest information doing the rounds in social media and in South African media space indicates that the former Pirates winger has joined Tanzanian giants.

EX-PIRATES STAR MAKUDUBELA JOINS TANZANIAN GIANTS

The Vosloorus-born Makudubela who also played for the now defunct Platinum Stars and Pirates caught the attention of Yanga in Tanzania a few weeks ago.

Sources close to the deal indicated that the Tanzanian side wanted to secure Makudubela’s signature as quickly as possible.

As a free agent following massive departures at Gallants, the talented attacker was rumoured to be on his way to the Dube Birds but he has opted to join Yanga in East Africa.

Reports suggested that the Dobsonville-based Swallows were already talking to the 33-year-old Makudubela with a view to adding him to their roster.

EX-PIRATES STAR BECOMES THE LATEST TO TANZANIAN GIANTS

Following the likes of Lucky Mohomi and Ranga Chivaviro who have left the Limpopo-based club, Makudubela will look to establish his career in Tanzania.

His move comes after the announcement made by Richards Bay who signed the former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder, Mohomi.

On the other hand, Kaizer Chiefs have captured ex-Gallants striker Ranga Chivaviro despite Richards Bay claiming to have signed the lanky forward.

In addition, Pirates lured Katlego Otladisa and Sundowns managed to bring in Lesiba Nku as they also bolstered their ranks with players from Gallants who will campaign in the Motsepe Foundation Championship next season.

Having helped Gallants reach the CAF Confederation Cup semi-finals last season, the 33-year-old will hope to continue gaining more continental experience.
