South Africans are mourning the death of acclaimed actor Presley Chweneyagae, who reportedly passed away in the early hours of Tuesday.
The details of his death remain unclear. Chweneyagae, 40, rose to fame for playing the lead role in the Oscar-winning South African film Tsotsi.
Although he stepped back from the spotlight after his initial success, Chweneyagae made a comeback and captivated local audiences in “The River,” where he played the character Cobra. After the news of his passing emerged, many South Africans took to social media to pay tribute to the celebrated actor.
