If you are flying to Europe or beyond, you should try Premium Economy Class on Swiss International Airlines.

The Swiss are known for high standards and for uncompromised safety.

Swiss International Airlines lives up to high standards and delivers service excellence.

SWISS INTERNATIONAL AIRLINES

Swiss now offers Premium Economy Class on its daily flights to and from Zurich and Johannesburg.

The new class of travel supplements Swiss’ existing Economy, Business and First Class cabins.

“We are delighted to see SWISS Premium Economy now being offered to travellers between Johannesburg and Zurich, too,” says Matthias Lefèvre, General Manager South Africa for SWISS and the Lufthansa Group.

SWISS PREMIUM ECONOMY CLASS

Swiss Premium Economy is in a class of its own. Compared with the Premium Economy on some other airlines, the Swiss Premium Economy Class has all the feels of a Business Class.

Flying Premium Economy with Swiss is worth every cent, though fares might not be much more than traditional economy class. This depends on when passengers book and pay for tickets.

“Our new class of travel meets a rising demand for more privacy, comfort and individuality aloft. And in adding it to our range of customer options, we are further strengthening our premium positioning in the growing leisure travel segment.” Lefèvre said.

PREMIUM SEATING

Travellers in Premium Economy enjoy more privacy and comfort in the specially designed hardshell seats which are wider than the Swiss Economy Class seat.

The new Premium Economy seat offers more space with a greater recline and a foldout footrest. At 46 to 48 centimetres, the seat is wider than the standard economy class seat.  The seat pitch has also been increased from 78.7 to 99 centimetres.

The newly designed seat also features two USB ports and personal in-seat reading lamps which offer individual lighting.

Passengers can access the inflight audio selection and the films and shows available on their seat’s personal 15.6-inch screen.

INFLIGHT CATERING

Besides the extra space offered in Premium Economy, Swiss inflight cuisine has also been specially tailored for the bespoke new class of travel.

All Premium Economy travellers receive a refreshing elderberry welcome drink. Superior inflight meals are offered. There is a choice of three hot dishes, all served on crockery made of China.

One of the dishes is from the award-winning SWISS Taste of Switzerland inflight culinary programme. A vegetarian option created by the world’s oldest vegetarian restaurant, Hiltl, is also offered.

OTHER BENEFITS

Guests in Premium Economy are entitled to check in two pieces of baggage (23 kgs per bag).  They also enjoy priority boarding, before Economy Class passengers.

Complimentary access to the SWISS Business Lounges at Zurich and Geneva airports is offered. Access to the SWISS Arrival Lounge at Zurich Airport is possible at discounted rates.
