Kanye in South Africa? Promoters address ‘scam’ allegations

Despite widespread rumours claiming Kanye West’s South African concert is a scam, promoters Monyake Group have assured fans that everything is legitimate.

The company, which previously brought US gospel singer Chandler Moore to SA, even shared a “site inspection” of the venue with the public.

According to his X post, the US rapper will perform at Ellis Park on 13 December 2025.

KANYE WEST CONCERT PROMOTERS SAY SHOW IS LEGIT

On their Instagram account, which has fewer than 500 followers, the Monyake Group announced they were preparing for Kanye West’s reported December concert.

Despite public concerns, the group, led by businessman Samuel Monyake, conducted a “site visit” to Ellis Park with the production team.

The South African contacted the Monyake Group’s WhatsApp line for confirmation on the concert.

It responded: “Kanye posted that [he] is coming and booked by us”.

The group did not provide any other details.

TICKETS ON SALE NEXT WEEK

According to the Monyake Group, tickets to Kanye’s concert “will go live on Tuesday, 23 September” on TicketPro.

The company claimed it was experiencing “technical issues”

It did not respond to concerns about its website or that TicketPro was not yet advertising the event.
