The Buccaneers have now swooped in to secure his services, with the club releasing the following statement on the matter:

The 28-year-old attacking midfielder, who recently played for Bafana Bafana in the COSAFA Cup, has put pen to paper on a three-year deal.

“I am pleased to join the club,” said Kapinga. “I’m not much of a talker because talk is cheap. All I’m focused on is to start training and working my way back to playing the game I love.”

Known for his flair, and creativity, Kapinga who formerly played for Black Leopards and Mamelodi Sundowns has 91 official matches under his belt, including 11 goals and 15 assists.

He will link up with his new team-mates this week and has been allocated the number 21.

Looking ahead to what could come next for the midfielder, he has previously stated that all he wants is a club where he can feel at home.

“I leave that to my agent, and I will speak to him maybe from Monday when I get to Joburg,” said Kapinga as per Times Live. “I feel like right now it’s only a matter of me getting in a space where I’m going to play. [I want] a team that is going to appreciate me.

“I just feel like sometimes it’s good not to know a lot of things about it. If Sundowns works for other players, it doesn’t mean it will work for me. I just must focus on my career and build myself again.”
