A. Yellow Level 2 Warning: Severe Thunderstorms leading to localised flooding of susceptible roads, settlements and low-lying areas/bridges, excessive lightning, strong damaging winds and large amounts of small hail and/or large hail are expected over the eastern parts of North West, southern parts of Limpopo as well as the northern parts of both Gauteng and Mpumalanga.

Weather conditions and UVB forecast in South Africa’s provinces
Gauteng
Gauteng can expect cloudy and cool with scattered showers and thundershowers.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index is Low
Mpumalanga
Mpumalanga, the Place of the Rising Sun, can expect warm weather in the Lowveld, otherwise cloudy and cool with scattered showers and thundershowers.
Limpopo
In Limpopo, cloudy and cool to warm with scattered showers and thundershowers but isolated in the north and east.
North West
North West, known as Bokone Bophirima in Setswana, can expect cloudy, windy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered in the east.
Free State
In Free State, partly cloudy to cloudy, windy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers.
Northern Cape
The day will start fine and warm to hot becoming partly cloudy in the extreme north-east with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong southerly to south-easterly.
Western Cape
Cool in places in the south, where it will be partly cloudy in the early morning, otherwise fine and warm to hot. The wind along the coast will be light and variable along the south coast in the morning where it will become moderate to fresh south-easterly from the afternoon, otherwise light to moderate southerly to south-westerly, reaching fresh to strong along the west coast.
The expected UVB sunburn index is Very High
Eastern Cape
The Western half: Cloudy in the north-east in the morning, otherwise fine and warm to hot but partly cloudy along the coast where it will be cool in places. The wind along the coast will be light north-westerly, becoming light to moderate south-easterly from mid-morning, but moderate to fresh north easterly east of Algoa Bay from the afternoon.
The Eastern half: The day will start partly cloudy and cool to warm but cloudy with morning fog and a chance of light rain in places in the south-east. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms are expected in the north-east. The wind along the coast will be light and variable early morning, otherwise moderate to fresh north-easterly, reaching strong from the afternoon.
KwaZulu-Natal
Morning fog over the interior, otherwise cloudy and cool to warm with scattered showers and thundershowers but isolated in the south, where it will become partly cloudy in the afternoon. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south easterly becoming moderate easterly to north-easterly in the south by late morning, spreading northwards.
