Here’s the weather outlook for South Africa’s nine provinces.
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued Level 4 and Level 2 warnings for severe storms that are expected to hit five provinces, including heavy rain and strong winds, this Monday.

IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS
A. Yellow Level 4 warning: Severe thunderstorms leading to localized flooding of susceptible roads, settlements, low lying bridges/areas and localized damage to infrastructure, due to heavy downpours and strong damaging winds, are expected along the escarpment and eastern highveld of Mpumalanga as well as the escarpment and northern parts of Limpopo.
B. Yellow Level 2 warning: Severe thunderstorms leading to localized flooding of susceptible roads, settlements, low lying bridges/areas and localized damage to infrastructure, due to heavy downpours and strong damaging winds, are expected over the central and eastern parts of Limpopo, the highveld and lowveld of Mpumalanga, the midlands and western parts of KwaZulu-Natal, eastern parts of Free State and south-western parts of North West.
FIRE DANGER WARNINGS
Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the Kai !Garib local municipality of the Northern Cape.

Gauteng
Gauteng can expect cloudy at first, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm in the north with scattered showers and thundershowers.

Mpumalanga
Mpumalanga, the Place of the Rising Sun, can expect cloudy and cool to warm with scattered to widespread showers and thundershowers.
Limpopo
In Limpopo, cloudy and cool to warm with scattered to widespread showers and thundershowers.
North West
North West, known as Bokone Bophirima in Setswana, can expect morning fog patches in the east, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot, with scattered showers and thundershowers, but isolated in the extreme west.
Free State
In Free State, morning fog patches in the east, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot, with scattered showers and thundershowers, but isolated in the west.
Northern Cape
The day will start cloudy at first along the coast, otherwise fine and warm to hot, but partly cloudy in the east with isolated showers and thundershowers. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly but strong along the south-west and west coast.
Western Cape
Cloudy to partly cloudy along the south coast and eastern interior at first, otherwise fine and warm but hot to very hot over interior. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south westerly but light and variable along the south coast.
The expected UVB sunburn index is Extreme
Eastern Cape
The Western half: Partly cloudy and warm with isolated afternoon thunderstorms in the extreme north. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate south easterly.
The Eastern half: The day will start partly cloudy and warm with isolated interior thunderstorms over the interior and Wild Coast, but scattered along the Drakensberg. The wind along the coast will be light west to north-west, becoming moderate easterly in the afternoon.
KwaZulu-Natal
Morning fog over the interior, otherwise partly cloudy to cloudy and cool to warm with scattered showers and thundershowers. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate easterly to north-easterly becoming fresh in the afternoon.
