WILL TOM DO THE FINAL?
As things, it’s unclear as to who CAF will appoint to handle this year’s AFCON final on 18 January.
However, both Tom and Siwela look set to be involved in the tournament until the very end with just four games remaining.
In 2021, retired referee Victor Gomes was in charge of the AFCON final between Senegal and Egypt.
Should Tom be picked for the final, he would have followed in the footsteps of Gomes who remains the only South African referee to have officiated in an AFCON final.
