AFCON 2025: How many goals have been scored so far?

The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) has entered the quarterfinal stage as eight teams have already advanced.

There have some brilliant goals scored throughout the tournament – some from outside the box and others from the penalty spot.

SA People brings you a breakdown of the goals scored in this 35th AFCON edition which is hosted by Morocco.

HOW MANY GOALS HAS AFCON 2025 PRODUCED?

To date, a total of 109 goals have been scored in this year’s AFCON tournament, and the number is likely to increase.

In the group stages alone, the African continent witnessed 87 goals while the Round of 16 produced 22 goals.

It is worth mentioning that of the 109 goals scored, 12 were from the penalty spot.

Overall, a whopping 16 penalties were awarded in this AFCON, and with 12 converted, this means 4 were missed.
