AFCON 2025: Sky Bet rewards bettors for outright Morocco win
The controversial 2025 AFCON final between Senegal and Morocco continues to make headlines following CAF’s latest ruling!
Bettors who predicted that Morocco would beat Senegal to the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) trophy are getting paid.
On Tuesday, 17 March, CAF released a statement that declared Morocco as legitimate AFCON champions.
This despite Senegal winning the final 1-0 on 18 January, and lifting the trophy in front of the whole world.
Morocco appealed the result, citing that the game should have ended because a number of Senegal players walked off the pitch on the night.
CAF Disciplinary Committee initially dismissed Morocco’s case but CAF Appeal Board overturned it, and ruled that Senegal have forfeited the match with a 0-3 scoreline.
There had been questions around whether or not bettors would get their payouts after this ruling.
And on Wednesday, World Sports Betting confirmed that they are paying those who predicted an outright Morocco win.
Now, it appears they are not the only betting company doing that because Sky Bet is also paying out.

SENEGAL HEAD TO CAS
Meanwhile, as reported on SA People, Senegal have since made their intentions clear that they will appeal CAF Appeal Board’s decision with Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
They have at least 10 days to lodge their appeal, and once they do that, CAF Appeal Board’s ruling will be null and void until CAS rules on the matter.
And it could take up to six months for CAS to make a ruling on the matter which is currently a burning issue in the world.
