Bafana Bafana star attracts Italian Serie A proposal
Bafana Bafana star players have been basking in the limelight since the AFCON with more players drawing international interest.
Bafana Bafana players seem to be reaping the rewards of an outstanding 2023 Afcon campaign in the Ivory Coast.
After a shaky start to the tournament, Bafana ended up finishing third, earning bronze at the continental showpiece.

That run has seen some of Bafana’s prominent stars in the tournament, linked to clubs from bigger European leagues. Teboho Mokoena and Khuliso Mudau of Mamelodi Sundowns, as well as Evidence Makgopa of Orlando Pirates amongst those. Mokoena has been linked with both AFC Bournemouth in the English Premier League and AS Monaco of French Ligue 1.
Mokoena’s club teammate Mudau, has been linked with a switch to the Belgian Pro League, with Genk said to be monitoring his situation. On Wednesday, reports started to surface that Makgopa was the subject of interest from three teams in Europe. It is believed that there are two teams in Belgium as well one in France. It is also understood that one of the sides are ready to make an offer for the target man.

That trio is not the only to receive interest from Europe, with one player already based abroad set to upgrade! The player in question is midfielder Siphephelo Sithole. ‘Jobe’ was in spectacular form in Ivory Coast, forming an incredible midfield partnership with Mokoena. Already plying his trade in the second tier of Portugal for CD Tondela, and now according to his agent, he could be moving to the Italian Serie A!
