Bafana fans react to Last 16 qualification

Bafana Bafana fans react in delight after the national team’s qualification for the round of 16 at Afcon and they want Morocco.

In the wake of a goalless draw and a successful qualification for the Afcon round of 16, Bafana fans react and are delighted – they are not scared of Morocco.

Coached by Hugo Broos, Bafana fans are also happy and praise the Belgian mentor for making the country proud in the draw against Tunisia and knockout qualification – they are unfazed by Morocco’s quality.

The South African takes a look at social media reactions where the excited for Bafana’s qualification and wish the best of luck against the North Africans, saying bring Morocco.

At the same time, the Bafana fans are also congratulating the players such as as skipper Ronwen Williams who played a big part in their round of 16 qualification to face Morocco.

Looking at other comments on Facebook, some Bafana fans strongly believe the team can emulate the Class of ’96 and win the Afcon trophy.

BRING MOROCCO: BAFANA FANS REACT TO LAST 16 QUALIFICATION

In his post-match reaction, Broos made it clear that he wants to realise his goals as he realised Bafana’s round of 16 qualification hopes at the Afcon showpiece in Cote d’Ivoire.

“I want to win every match. When I came here [South Africa], I knew there was a possibility to have a good team. You always have to have some goals to achieve,” Bafana coach Broos reacted after the Last 16 qualification.

“Our first goal was to pass the group stages, even though we were not in an easy group with Tunisia, Mali [and Namibia]. We need these types of tournaments to become better.

“Excuse me, it’s not a lack of respect, but we can’t progress if we face teams like Lesotho. We play against Tunisia, we play against Namibia, maybe next time we play against Morocco.”

Judging the reactions from the delighted Bafana fans after the team’s qualification, it seems Broos has restored faith in the side considering they were unfairly lambasted after their 2-0 loss to Mali.

Makoti Thabang said:

“Morocco will be asking themselves what kind of Bafana Bafana will they face in the last 16, the short passes built from the back from Mali game or the direct football Bafana from Namibia or the laid back defensive Bafana from tonight. By the time they figure us out, we would be 3-0 up.”
