Billiat is ‘cooking something’ says ex-Kaizer Chiefs defender

According to various reports, Khama Billiat is trying his luck in the Middle East and could return to the country should things not pen out.

Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Thomas Sweswe says Khama Billiat made the right decision to leave the Soweto giants before the start of the current season.

Since leaving Amakhosi, Billiat has struggled to find a new club.

The 33-year-old went awol end of June after he reportedly refused to accept Kaizer Chiefs’ new contract. The former Zimbabwean international apparently refused the offer due to a salary cut.

BILLIAT TRYING TO IMPRESS IN SAUDI ARABIA

Speaking to Soccer Laduma, Sweswe said his follow Zimbabwean needed time to heal and reflect.

“I think he has his own reasons to leave Chiefs. I can’t blame him for that. I will support his decision. You know his last season at Chiefs he was injury prone,” said the former Kaizer Chiefs defender.

I think he wanted to heal first and see his next move. I think he needed this sabbatical leave to figure things out. What I am sure of is that he has something cooking for him.

“Something is coming up. You know he is quiet even on social media. He is not like that so he is cooking something for sure,” said Sweswe.

Sweswe played for Kaizer Chiefs between 2009 and 2012, and has won several trophies with the Soweto giants.

He believes that Billiat still has the ability to play for any top team in the country.

According to reports, the former Kaizer Chiefs striker is trying his luck in Saudi Arabia.
