And the blue-ribbon fixture of South African franchise rugby, which kicks off at 17:00, could well determine which team wins the SA Shield for this season.

In the latest information on this game, it was confirmed that over 30 000 tickets have already been sold with the stadium holding a capacity of 58 000.

And with more five days to go until the match kicks off, there is every expectation that more of the remaining seats will be filled and the ‘sold out’ signs will go up outside Loftus Versfeld.

BULLS READY TO SNAP WRETCHED RUN AGAINST STORMERS

John Dobson’s Stormers have been utterly dominant in the local derby fixtures with an unbeaten streak dating back to December 2021, and this includes an eight-game winning run against the Bulls.

Speaking in a press conference in the buildup to the north-south clash on the Highveld, former Stormers turned Bulls star, Nizaam Carr, emphasised what it will take to end the Stormers’ dominance while highlighting the mentality of his team.

“I think every time we play them it’s close; we can’t say it’s luck because they’ve beaten us seven times now but sometimes I feel it’s the bounce of the ball, where the momentum is shifting every time,” he told reporters.

“The crowd also plays a big role and hopefully that can work in our favour being at home, with [an expected] over 50 000 coming out.

“There’s always one or two tweaks how we want to combat them, and at the end of the day it comes down to execution. Only we will know if we are doing that and the results have shown every time that we’re falling short.

“But we believe and keep fighting that things will turn out differently, and we have a good chance [on Saturday] to do so.”
