Chiefs defender receives massive backing from legend

One new Kaizer Chiefs defender receives massive backing from esteemed legend Tefu Mashamaite, labelling him a complete player.

Kaizer Chiefs defender Given Msimango receives the massive backing of legend Tefu Mashamaite, who says the new recruit will be key for Amakhosi.

Mashamaite is impressed by the former TS Galaxy central defender, Msimango whom he says has fitted easily at Chiefs – reports FARPost.

The gifted centre-back, Msimango moved to the Naturena-based Chiefs during the previous transfer window on a four-year deal.

CHIEFS DEFENDER RECEIVES BACKING FROM ESTEEMED LEGEND

Having featured in 11 matches for Amakhosi across all competitions so far this term, Msimango is praised by the former Bidvest Wits defender as a perfect signing.

“You know, his form, I feel like he just went into Chiefs and he fitted like a hand in a glove,” Mashamaite told FARPost. 

“He looks so comfortable like he’s been playing for Chiefs for a long time. He doesn’t look to be under any kind of pressure and that’s the kind of material Chiefs need right now.

“And the fact that he was also part of the recent Bafana Bafana preliminary squad it’s a reward for his hard work. I hope it goes a long way into building his confidence.”

MASHAMAITE ON WHY MSIMANGO IS A COMPLETE FOOTBALLER

Before hanging up his boots, Mashamaite formed a solid partnership with veteran Erick Mathoho under coach Stuart Baxter.

He continued to praise the 25-year-old towering stopper as someone who is growing in stature.

 “I think he’s a player who’s growing in stature. He’s one player who has got what it takes to be a good defender. Let’s hope he also cultivates that into winning trophies for Kaizer Chiefs,” he added. 

Partnering with new recruit in the form of Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, Msimango is set to be one of the players coach Ntseki will pin his hopes on.
