Duane Vermeulen, the celebrated Springboks No.8, has announced his retirement from rugby at the age of 37, marking the end of an 11-season career that saw him earn 76 caps for South Africa.

Vermeulen, known for his formidable presence on the field, has been a pivotal player in South Africa’s rugby history, leading them to two World Cup victories in 2019 and 2023​​​​.
