Elton Jantjies: Is this the end for Springbok bad boy?

Elton Jantjies is on a downward spiral of his own making and by the time he hits rockbottom, it could already be too late to save his career.

To Elton Jantjies, it may seem like the universe is conspiring against him, when in actual reality he is his own worst enemy, both on a professional and personal front.

IS THIS THE END OF THE ROAD FOR ELTON JANTJIES’ CAREER?

We know of his self-admitted and now widely publicised affair with the Springboks’ team dietician which most likely cost him his Test career and led to the end of his marriage.

We know that the subsequent fallout from that affair and the continued mudslinging between Jantjies and his wife, Iva Ristic, was the reason why the Japanese club, Urayasu D-Rocks, he played for at the time, terminated his contract because they didn’t want to be associated with that kind of bad press.

We know that he then signed on to play for Agen, a French second division side, who in good faith opted to hand Elton Jantjies a career lifeline despite all the red flags.

A mere nine months after that show of good faith by Agen, Jantjies tested positive for the banned substance — clenbuterol. He denies intentionally ingesting the substance and he requested a potentially career-deciding B-sample test be taken.

We know that with all those dark clouds of unresolved issues hanging over his head, the same Elton — who by the way is refusing to sign his divorce papers which will make his separation from Iva Ristic official — proceeded to start another affair, this time with a prominent social media influencer and OnlyFans model.

The pair openly flaunted their relationship on social media, so much so, that it came to a point that the overseas-based Iva Ristic outed the new couple for cosying up and conducting their business in Elton Jantjies’ marital home.

But that two-month relationship has run its course now too, with the model citing Elton Jantjies’ “insecurities” and “uncontrollable” temper for their split.

In several interviews with various local media outlets over the last few days, the model branded the former Springbok as “toxic and manipulative” and labelled their affair as a “horror show” from which both her and her young daughter needed protection.

If all the events prior to this latest breakup haven’t already done so, this revelation certainly paints an unsavoury picture of a man who was once a national hero and role model to young kids.

But the downfall of Elton Jantjies doesn’t stop there. A quick glance at the official Agen website confirms that his profile had been removed from the club’s squad listing.

So we now know that he has been let go by another team for his off-field indiscretions.

So what next for Elton Jantjies the player and Elton Jantjies the man?

That we don’t know yet, but what we do know is that whatever happens next, Elton Jantjies won’t have anyone to blame but himself.
