Gavin Hunt: ‘I would go back to Chiefs ‘

SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt once coached Kaizer Chiefs. Would he return to the DStv Premiership giants? His answer is yes.

GAVIN HUNT ON KAIZER CHIEFS RETURN

Following his shock sacking from Amakhosi after making the CAF Champions League semi-finals in 2021, Hunt, speaking on This Is Football Africa, was asked by the host Peter du Toit, if he could consider returning to Chiefs or not?

“Yeha, yeah,” Hunt said.

“I mean Peter come on, let’s be honest… We got to the semi-finals of the Champions League. And then they obviously got the final, but I got the bullet on the semi-final.

“I mean it’s a great club, great institution. They need, they needed an overhaul. They’ve done a complete overhaul now since I’ve left.

“Now they’ve got a completely new team that they needed three, four years ago,” Hunt added.

“When Jeff Butler got into Chiefs, he got rid of “Ace” [Patrick Ntsloelengwe], Teenage [Nelson Dladla]… there was a huge outcry. Remember those days? They wanted to slaughter Jeff.

“The next season he won five trophies, so come on.

“Peter, you can’t let a team get old together, never…” the four-time DStv Premiership winning coach added.
