When Khune was slapped with suspension towards the end of 2023, the club’s Disciplinary Committee (DC) recommended that he undergo certain programmes and meet the required expectations.

Khune last featured for Chiefs on 11 November 2023 when they suffered a narrow 1-0 loss to Orlando Pirates in the Soweto derby.

IS ITUMELENG KHUNE FACING KAIZER CHIEFS EXIT?

“I can’t share the time frame [as to when he’ll be integrated with the team], but he’s still in the process of suspension,” Motaung told Sowetan.

“Remember, he was suspended by the DC [disciplinary committee]. So, there’s a process and he’s following that process,” he continued.

“The suspension may be expiring [soon], but there are still processes to be followed [before he forms part of the team again],” concluded Motaung.
