KAIZER CHIEFS TO WELCOME BACK AMAKHOSI LEGEND TO TRAINING

Khune was suspended after he rocked up to training smelling like alcohol. However, he will be back to the delight of the Amakhosi faithful.

“The team will be back to training sometime in January to start preparing for the resumption of the league in February. So, yes, Khune will also be back after serving his suspension. What happened was not good for him and the club, that’s why they (Chiefs management) decided to suspend him. It was part of sending a strong message to everyone in the squad to know that such things won’t be tolerated,” the insider stated on Phakaaati.

Amakhosi management have made it clear that they don’t tolerate alcohol or behavior issues at Naturena. Thankfully, Khune showed remorse, took responsibility and he is dedicated to this club having served them for close to two decades.

“But I’m certain that he will be happy to be back and be part of the squad again. He loves this club and has shown remorse about what he did during the disciplinary hearing,” he added on the same publication.

KHUNE WILL HAVE TO FIGHT FOR GAME TIME

Khune will struggle to get game time. Bruce Bvuma is the man most recently entrusted with the gloves in goal.

Furthermore, since his suspension, Lungile Nkosi was invited to train with the first team. Whilst, Brandon Peterson and Karabo Molefe are also competing for the same spot. Khune’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season. It remains to be seen whether they will extend his contract or Khune will transition into the coaching ranks and finally hang up his boots (and gloves).
