Molefi Ntseki left Kaizer Chiefs due to violent fans – report

Molefi Ntseki reportedly resigned from his position as Kaizer Chiefs head coach due to violent fans who abused him during his tenure.

Molefi Ntseki reportedly resigned from his position as Kaizer Chiefs head coach due to violent fans who abused him during his tenure.

This is according to a source known Sunday World, who claimed Ntseki wasn’t actually fired by the Chiefs hierarchy.

Ntseki had only been in charge of Chiefs for 13 games across all competitions. He won four, drew three and lost six.

However, the constant abuse from a section of Amakhosi fans let to the decision to permanently leave the club.

Those fans first directed their anger at Ntseki in Mbombela, and this was on the back of the 1-0 loss to TS Galaxy.

The same incident happened in Polokwane after Chiefs had lost 1-0 to SuperSport United before it repeated itself at FNB Stadium when the team got knocked out by AmaZulu in the Carling Knockout Cup.

The series of the abovementioned incidents forced the league to hand Chiefs a harsh punishment of playing their next game without fans.

And that game is next week Wednesday against Cape Town Spurs at FNB Stadium. Kick-off is at 19:30.

“He then went to a meeting with the club chairman, they had a decent conversation, shook hands and then it was over,” said the source.

“The coach also felt the club did not do enough to protect him, because Jessica [Motaung] came out to address the matter only after two incidents.”

NTSEKI WAS REPLACED BY CAVIN JOHNSON

Ntseki has since been replaced by Cavin Johnson who was initially hired as the Head of Academy at Chiefs.

Johnson has already received a baptism of fire after seeing Chiefs suffer a 2-1 defeat to Golden Arrows last week Saturday.
