Orlando Pirates and coach Abdeslam Ouaddou made history on Saturday when they defeated Marumo Gallants 3-0 at Orlando Amstel Arena.

Now, according to OptaJabu, Pirates became the first team to win 11 consecutive home games in all competitions in the PSL era.

Similarly, Ouaddou became the first coach in the PSL era to win 11 home games in a row.

The previous record was 10 home wins held by different clubs over the years, including Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs and Santos among others.

On the side of coaches, Ouaddou surpassed records set by the likes of Rulani Mokwena, Stuart Baxter and Pitso Mosimane among others.

BUCS HOST SUNDOWNS NEXT…

Pirates will now set sights on Wednesday’s league encounter against defending champions Sundowns.

The two PSL giants will face off at FNB Stadium after the game was moved from Orlando Amstel Arena.

Kick-off is at 19:30.

And should Pirates beat Sundowns, they would have then stretched their winning home run to a whopping 12 across all competitions.
