Pitso Mosimane hints why he might not join Kaizer Chiefs

Former Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane is back in the country but is unlikely to take the Amakhosi job due to various factors.

Pitso Mosimane is back in the country but says his is taking a break from coaching until 2024.

The 59-year-old recently parted ways with United Arab Emirates side Al Wahda after just five months in charge.

Since his departure, Mosimane has been linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs and also Egyptian giants Zamalek.

Speaking to the South African Football Journalists Association, Jingles said he was unsure where his next move would take him.

“You might have a vision, saying you want to go there, but you must understand there are already coaches employed in those areas,” he said.

“There is interest now in different spaces, in Asia, in Oceania, in the Gulf States, even in North America. Also in Eastern Europe, we have had a conversation.

“It is important for me to respect those people inside my office. I have generals around me, if there is any movement, there is a bigger discussion. I am the head but I am not the only guy who decides to go. I have people around who help me … it is not (all) up to me,” Mosimane added.

The former Bafana Bafana said he was enjoying time with family and likely to return to coaching next year.

Chiefs have hired Cavin Johnson as the club’s interim coach but given his relation with Mosimane, the ex-Al Ahly head coach is likely to support Johnson for the role.
