South Africans Abroad: Bafana Bafana attacker Campbell sees red
Campbell barely lasted 10 minutes on the pitch as he was shown his marching orders soon after coming on as a substitute.
Bafana Bafana attacker Shandre Campbell was shown a straight red card in Club Brugge‘s 2-0 loss to Charleroi on Tuesday night.
This was a Belgian Cup quarterfinal match, meaning Campbell and his teammates are officially out.
What’s strange is that Campbell had just come on from the bench, and he couldn’t even finish the game.
BAFANA BAFANA ATTACKER SHANDRE CAMPBELL SEES RED
Campbell was introduced in the 86th minute, replacing defender Joaquin Seys as Club Brugge pushed for a goal.
And the 20-year-old proved to be a thorn in Charleroi’s defence as they struggled to handle his speed and trickery.
Now, deep into stoppage time, the speedy attacker dribbled past a few Charleroi players towards the touchline but he was pulled.
Out of frustration, he then chased after the player who fouled him and pushed him.
Opposition players then got involved and pushed the young attacker around before he received his marching orders.

BIG BLOW FOR THE YOUNG MAN?
Campbell has just returned from the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with Bafana Bafana.
And he was aiming to win his place in the Club Brugge starting line-up with that brilliant performance.
However, Campbell may have to wait a little longer due to suspension, meaning he will have to work his socks off to get back into the team.
