Bafana Bafana striker Lyle Foster returned to action as Burnley played to a 2-2 draw against Manchester United.

Foster has just rejoined his teammates following Bafana Bafana’s exit from the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

He was one of Bafana Bafana’s outstanding players at the continental showpiece.

The 25-year-old marksman was directly involved in four goals – two goals and two assists for Bafana Bafana at the tournament.

LYLE FOSTER IN ACTION AGAINST MAN UNITED

Given his absence from the Burnley squad due to national team commitments, Foster started on the bench against Manchester United.

However, he was introduced with 14 minutes remaining as both sides were locked at 2-2.

Ayden Heaven‘s own goal had given Burnley a first half lead but Man United struck twice early in the second half through Benjamin Sesko.

Jaidon Anthony then equalised for Burnley in the 66th minute, and that proved to be the last goal of the game.

Burnley remain in the relegation zone, 19th with 13 points from 21 games while Man United are seventh with 32 points from the same number of games.

ONTO THE NEXT ASSIGNMENT

Burnely will now shift focus to the FA Cup third round clash with Millwall on Saturday, 10 January at Turf Moor.

And Foster is expected to return to the starting line-up to try and help Burnley advance to the next round.
