South Africans Abroad: In-form Gift Links picks Denmark, girlfriend over PSL return!
Gift Links says he has no plans to leave Denmark and return to the PSL as he’s currently enjoying his football, and has a ‘girlfriend’ now.
South African midfielder Gift Links has no plans to return to the PSL from Denmark in order to play for Bafana Bafana again.
Links has been in Denmark for six years after having signed with Aarhus GF (AGF) in September 2019.
At the time, the 27-year-old was on the books of the now relegated Cape Town City.
And despite his scintillating from in the last two seasons, Links is still not part of the Bafana Bafana setup.
Speaking with Thabiso Mosia on Radio 2000, the left-footed South African expat revealed that he is still very much happy in Denmark.
Last weekend, Links found the back of the net as AGF claimed a 3-1 victory over Odense Boldklub (OB) in the DBU Pokalen quarter-final on Sunday.
This was his fourth goal of the season across all competitions for AGF.
Links recently signed a new four-year deal which will keep him at AGF at least until June 2029.

GIFT LINKS HAS NO INTENTION TO RETURN TO PSL
“I recently signed a long-term deal because I’m not planning to come back home,” said Links.
“After six years in Denmark, I’ve gotten used to the weather and the football.
“Luckily, most people speak English plus I have a girlfriend here now. So, the plan is to stay.”
ALL THE STATS IN THE LAST SIX SEASONS
Links had his own struggles in his first few seasons with AGF but he quickly adapted and showed class.
He has featured in 193 matches for AGF senior team since his arrival, scored 17 goals and registered 21 assists.
This season only, Links has directly been involved in eight goals – scored four and provided four assists in 22 matches.
