South Africans Abroad: Lorch unveiled, jersey number revealed
Thembinkosi Lorch will start a new chapter of his career in Libya with a new jersey number he was handed in by Al-Ittihad.
South Africa attacker Thembinkosi Lorch has officially been unveiled by Libyan giants Al-Ittihad.
Lorch was recently signed by Al-Ittihad from Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club for a reported $1.5 million (R24 million).
The move came just months after Wydad signed Lorch on a permanent deal from Mamelodi Sundowns.
He joins a familiar face in Thatayaone Ditlhokwe who moved to Al-Ittihad from Kaizer Chiefs in February 2025.
Now, Lorch has been handed the iconic No.11 jersey by Al-Ittihad; a new number altogether for the attacker in his career.
He wore the No.3 jersey at Orlando Pirates, before switching to the No.45 jersey at Sundowns.
At Wydad, the former Bafana Bafana star used the No.4 jersey before being sold to Al-Ittihad a few weeks ago.
