Former Al Ahly attacker Percy Tau is continuing with his fine form for Thep Xanh Nam Dinh in Vietnam.

Tau moved to Southeast Asia at the start of the 2025-2026 season after spending months without a club.

This was on the back of being released by Al Ahly who felt Tau was not going to give them much going forward.

The 31-year-old left the Red Devils of Egypt with eight trophies to his name, including two CAF Champions League titles.

On Wednesday, the South African expat was again influential as Thep Xanh Nam Dinh beat Bangkok United 4-1.

This was Nam Dinh’s third successive victory, including two in the ASEAN Club Championship.

For Tau, this was his third assist in 13 outings for Nam Dinh this season. He is yet to find the back of the net.

However, his contribution towards the team’s success is there for everyone to see, including the Nam Dinh’s technical team.

NAM DINH STRUGGLING IN THE BOTTOM HALF

While the out-of-favour Bafana Bafana attacker and his teammates are doing the most, they will have to work twice as hard to help struggling Nam Dinh in the league.

As things stand, Nam Dinh find themselves in position 10 of the 14 teams on the log.

They have collected just 10 points from their opening 10 games. Nam Dinh are three points above 14th-placed SHB-Da Nang.
