MC Alger head coach Rulani Mokwena has made a huge admission on Orlando Pirates attacker Relebohile Mofokeng.

Speaking to the media after MC Alger’s 1-0 CS Constantine, Mokwena said while he would like to sign Mofokeng, it’s almost impossible to get him.

Mokwena claims Mofokeng doesn’t want to ply his trade in Africa but he’s eyeing a move to Europe instead.

SOUTH AFRICANS ABROAD: MOKWENA REVEALS MOFOKENG ONLY WANTS EURO MOVE

“I know the fans want Mofokeng. I know this, and believe me, I want Mofokeng as well,” said Mokwena.

“He’s a South African player that I speak to also about certain things in South African football but it is not a transfer – not just from a financial perspective – because I can tell you the player has had many, many offers and has set his sights on going to Europe.

“So, I can talk about it because it’s just as an example that the club is ambitious. The club has explored that possibility, but the player has no ambitions to play in Africa. So it’s not a lack of ambition from the president,” added Mokwena.

HOW THE YOUNG STAR HAS FARED FOR BUCS

Mofokeng has been with the Buccaneers for almost three seasons, and he has become a star in that team.

The 21-year-old attacker has featured in 106 matches for Pirates, scored 19 goals and provided 25 assists.

However, he appears to be experiencing a dip in form as he’s just scored once in 17 matches this season.
