Soweto Derby: Six players who scored for both Chiefs and Pirates
Marks Maponyane is among the six players to score for both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates in the Soweto Derby but who are the other five?
The 2025-26 Soweto Derby between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates is just hours away.
This titanic clash will be played at FNB Stadium on Saturday with kick-off scheduled for 15:30.
As per the norm, this is a sold-out affair, and fans from both teams are encouraged to arrive early at the venue.
Now, building up to the encounter, SA People takes a look at players who scored for both Chiefs and Pirates in the history of the Soweto Derby which goes back to January 1970.
The last player to achieve this rare feat is the late Marc Batchelor who scored against Pirates before being shown a red card for elbowing Gerald Raphahlela.

WHO COULD BE THE SEVENTH PLAYER TO ACHIEVE THIS FEAT?
Now, the list could possibly grow with Siphesihle Ndlovu now turning out for Chiefs after previously scoring in the Soweto Derby.
It was on 30 January 2021 when Ndlovu scored Pirates’ second goal to help them beat Chiefs 2-1 in the league.
Ndlovu, if he plays and scores for Chiefs on Saturday, will join that list of legendary players to have done it for both teams in the history of this game.
