Springboks make MAJOR changes to coaching team

The Springboks have confirmed the return of Rassie Erasmus as head coach and he brings a fully loaded arsenal for his new reign.

Rassie Erasmus has signed on with the Springboks until 2027 and he has welcomed FOUR new additions to his technical staff for the 2024 season.

Rassie Erasmus has signed on as Springboks head coach until 2027.

Furthermore, he has signed four new members to his coaching staff including two international coaches and two legends of SA Rugby.

RASSIE SIGNS WITH SPRINGBOKS UNTIL 2027

Rassie will make be coaching the Boks for the next four years. In fact, he has officially signed a four-year contract, according to SARugbyMag.

Meaning, he will take charge of this group and lead them out at the next 2027 Rugby World Cup.

The world renowned, widely-respected and at times controversial coach famously lead the Boks to the Rugby Championship (2019). Furthermore, he went on to win the Rugby World Cup in Japan that same year.

He then decided to step away from coaching to resume the role of director of rugby. During this time, under Jacques Nienaber, the Springboks won the British and Irish Lions series and successfully defended their Rugby World Cup in 2023. Although it must be noted that Rassie was heavily involved and the dynamic duo worked wonders for the national side.

Now, in at attempt to elevate SA Rugby to another level, Rassie has appointed FOUR new coaches.

All Blacks legend Tony Brown is the new attacks coach. Moreover, he is joined by another international in Irish coach, Jerry Flannery who becomes the new defense coach. Finally, legendary former referee Jaco Peyper (National Laws advisor) and Bok legend Duane Vermeulen (roving coaching role) have both been added to the new-look Bok coaching staff.
