Sundowns transfer news: Fringe star set for loan move
Mamelodi Sundowns could see one of their fringe stars leave on loan in the current transfer window in search of regular game time.
Mamelodi Sundowns could lose star winger Thapelo Maseko in the current transfer window if everything goes according to plan.
Maseko, who has been with Sundowns for two seasons now, has found game time hard to come by under Miguel Cardoso.
There were reports of a possible move to Cyprus at the start of the season but that never happened.
Now, given his situation, Maseko’s agent Glynn Binkin has confirmed behind-the-scenes talks with the Tshwane giants over a possible loan move for the player.

SUNDOWNS IN TALKS OVER MASEKO’S FUTURE
“For Thapelo (Maseko), we have numerous options for him to go out on loan in January which we are discussing with Sundowns at the moment,” Binkin told Soccer Laduma.
He is a promising young talent who needs game time and if it’s not going to be at Sundowns (which situation we understand and respect) then they need to give him the opportunity to do so elsewhere which is in everyone’s interests and in particular for the player in order to progress his career which unfortunately has stagnated over the past two seasons,” he added.
MASEKO’S NUMBERS SINCE JOINING THE BRAZILIANS
The 22-year-old has been limited to just five league appearances at Sundowns this season, and seven across all competitions.
In the two seasons he has been with Sundowns, Maseko has featured 45 times, scored three goals and provided a single assist.
